Llanfairfechan.

The windsurfing and kitesurfing here can be good, especially in a SW wind when the winds funneling through the Menai Straits produce perfect cross-shore conditions across usually flat water. The sand and shingle beach can get quite busy with windsurfers (for this part of the world), but it isn't really suitable for beginners due to the strong currents. Northerly winds are cross-onshore from the right and can produce some good wave-sailing conditions. There is plenty of parking along the seafront and accommodation, shops and other facilities are available nearby.

Penmaenmawr.

I don't know much about this location, but the conditions are similar to those at Llanfairfechan. The beach itself has a fairly modern promenade with all the usual fancy gardens, cafe, amusement arcade, play area, paddling pool etc. Parking is available along half of the seafront area. Llandudno.

The curved bay is well sheltered from big waves and not very deep. It is overlooked by the limestone headland of the Great Orme, which is a popular launch site for paragliders. Facing SW, the sandy beach receives consistent cross or onshore winds. It is an ideal beach for windsurfing and kitesurfing and is especially suited to beginners of both sports. You can launch 3 hours either side of high tide. Parking is available nearby and all the usual seaside facilities can be found in Llandudno itself.
Llandudno also has a northerly facing beach on the other side of the Great Orme. I don't know much about this myself, but presumably it is fine for windsufing and kitesurfing with fairly flat water. SW winds would be cross-offsore and gusty, but NW through to Easterly should be good.

Prestatyn.

A large sandy level beach. Can have excellent wave sailing conditions in a Westerly wind. There is a car park next to the beach and a wall at the end of the car park which is useful for rigging out of the wind. The lifeboat isn't too far away should you need it!. The beach is suitable for windsurfing, kite-surfing and other kiting activites. Pubs, cafes, toilets and all the usual amenities are available close by. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months. Although tidal, the tides don't go out too far and Prestatyn can be sailed at all states of the tide, although 2 hours either side of high tide are the best.
To get there, from the A55 take the A525 towards Rhyl and Prestatyn or the the A 548 coast road.
