Information
Overcombe is just a mile or so from East of Weymouth so plenty of B+B's & camp sites about.
It has a small car park overlooking the beach with a cafe & Second Wind kitesurf/windsurf shop there, along with clean public toilets.
The sea state can be anything from Dead calm to 5ft waves. It works well with the wind from the SE right round to NW. Sou-westerlies can generate quite a bit of swell, good for jumping on Starboard tack but also quite a large shorebreak especially in stronger winds.

Only hazards are some rocks to the left of the car park which become exposed towards low tide. Avoid spring highs - especially with any East in the wind - as the shoredump and undertow can be vicious and there's no beach left

Kitesurfing/surfing/windsurfing/kayaking

I think Overcombe requires a little bit of clarification.
Kitesurfing skill -expert due to close proximity to the main road, Harbour authority looking closely at this beach regarding suitability, beginners will receive advise from locals to surf in Portland harbour.
Windsurfing excellent for all levels. But please use the facilities provided by Cafe Oasis as they are kind enough to allow the private car park to be used.
Surfing- rare good surf but when its good this place is buzzing!
Kayaking heaven on those balmy sunny days!
