Arrived at around 2.30 after skiving work for the afternoon on the forecast
of a solid F5. Got to the beach to find one SUPper (Jay) and one kiter, and
a light wind -around a F4. Hung around for a while waiting for the wind to
picked up, then finally decided to go for it when it came up a notch or two
- so on the water about 3ish. Struggled to get planing initially, and after
6 weeks off I felt a bit rusty. Then the wind came up a bit and I got
planing, around the time that Ed arrived (4.30). Messed around for a couple
of hours, blobbing about most of the time, and planing occasionally. Packed
up when the wind died around 6.30. Still, it was good to blow away the
cobwebs and get out, even if it wasn't the wind that was forecast. Hoping
for better luck on Saturday.
The curry and Guinness at the pub afterwards was the real highlight of the
afternoon!
