Arrived quite late at about 11 o'clock. Alistair was rigging a 5.5 abnd I
was going to too but someone I talked with reckoned a 5.0 would be fine.
So I did but the gusty wind dropped and it was hard to stay upwind and I
wound up 3 groynes down.
Decided to try the 103 but keep the 5.0 in case it picked up again. Pretty
naff and then it started to rain and dropped altogether.
Hung about the prom in the pouring rain getting cold & decided to throw in
the towel.
Packed everything up and was about to change when clear skies appeared in
the west.
Alistair & I decided it was worth another punt so I rigged the 5.9 for the
103 (both were put in/on the car as an afterthouht)
Oh dear - I could hang on but it was well powered so went back for the 5.5.
The board was big & bouncing on the chop but couldn't be arsed to unbury
the 86 from the car so put a smaller fin in which smoother it no end but
was overpowered really. But I'd had enough board & sail changing already so
flattened the sail a bit more and managed to sail in the gustiness with
the board bouncing all over the place until the sun went down.
If only I'd had the patience to leave the 86/5.0 set up...
Still - musn't grumble as I got a good sail in the end :-)
