It just filled in nicely to SW 6.5 weather past the tower - had a bit of really nice burn & turn, just me and one other out. Loadsa room!
Then it started picking up so headed in & got back just in time as the wind really ramped up.
Decided to rig a 5.5 - in the car park & rigging area it didn't feel too windy and after having my chop-ometer recalibrated by more sea sailing the water showed few clues to me.
Shoulda realised when I struggled to carry the 103/5.5 to the water that maybe my kit was too big. Nevertheless I launched & after barely a few hundred metres decide I'd be happier ashore.
Back at the shore I really struggled to carry the kit!
The wind had swung - on forecast - westerly and a rolling swell had developed along with a shorebreak. Seriously windy!
A good opportunity to try the new 4.0 but the temp had dropped & I was feeling cold so a hot shower was more appealing.
After a strenuous Saturday and all Sunday on the water the 6.5 blasting was nice - fighting 4.0m weather wasn't required!
