26th December 2009 Windsurfing: Hayling Island Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: F4 Surf / Sea State: Chop to small waves Air Temperature: 9 Sea Temperature: 11 Weather: Rain then sun Max Speed: Distance Covered: Very disappointing. Arrived about 10 o'clock to not a lot - 6.5/103, bogged out, dropped the gybe & not enough to waterstart so had the upwind walk of shame. Hung around waiting then it rained & was bloody cold so was going to pack up but A. Nother reckoned it was on its way so I sat in the car drinking coffee & got warm again. A squall came over to give a few minutes of fun then it was all over. Slowly the sky cleared so I had another bog about in the sunshine then packed up and was gone by half two. Oh well, nothing ventured.....and at least I had a change of scene & the roads were deserted. Home to bacon joint followed by apple crumble & custard - beats rehashed turkey (if turkey's so f**kin good how come most folk only eat it at crimbo?) The star rating doesn't work - it wasn't a waste of time because it could have been good. OTOH it wasn't a case of better than doing nothing as I've plenty of other things to have been doing. |
