I had high expectations of today as the weather was spot on, if a little chilly, and I needed a hard ride on some old familiar trails. As it turned out I had a bit of 'mare, bonked very early on and spent three hours hanging on at the back rather than in my normal spot leading the charge. Odd, as I have had some very good rides over the last couple of days. Maybe I just need a rest. Anyway, the second round of food bars and malt loaf found its way to my legs and the last part of the ride was a bit more comfortable (and mostly downhill !).
