Parked up by the fishing lodge about 09:00 & set off in the early sunshine - freezing cold by the water but by the time I'd climbed to Hope Brink was well sweaty.
Most of the gloop was frozen - as planned!
Absolutely gorgeous day - bright sunshine and a bit of snow on the tops with a rare odd patch on the trails to ceremoniously ride through for the first time this winter.
The drop from whinstone was a little disappointing inasmuch as the erosion and slipperyness spoiled its easy rolling singletrack nature - but that's nit-picking.
Back at the car by noon & although it was only 4c in the windless & sunny conditions it felt much warmer.
