The plan was to go to Hunny for easy conditions to check out the knee,
arrived Hunny around 09:00 to sea breaking over wall (unsurprisingly).
Had a brew & thought I may as well check out Branny as sit there - got as
far as Old Hunny and noticed the shorebreak, not big but enough to psyche
me out re the knee so headed back to Hunny.
Some out-of-towners asked me for the best place in the area and after
describing Branny I realised where I'd sooner be so off again.
Arrived Branny to find a convoy negotiating the flooded beach road and took
it as an omen to not sail there.
Back to Hunny. Ian was now there, the only other windsurfer, the sea about
half way down the groynes so we rigged & launched - me on the 103.
Yeah, right, flat water venue indeed! Dead onshore meant some effort, not
major, to launch & the sea was anything but flat.
But the knee held out and a great time was had. Later changed to the 86 and
with the sea moderating it just became easier. Why didn't I change to the
86 sooner - just damned lazy!
Came in when the wind eased and as I was packing up a squall came over to
remind me of all the winter sailing I've missed this year! ;-)
