Arrived 9 o'clock - it seems it wasn't up to peoples expectations - &
rigged 6.5/103.
Phill turned up whilst rigging.
Launched into only just enough wind so bogged a lot & planed a bit but as
the day wore on it filled in nicely as per forecast to provide a groovers
dream. Only small bumps in places & flat bits for turning.
Never got windier than 6.5 weather - I think that came later.
Carried on until barely enough water & after messing up a gybe plopped into
the water to find myself heading out to sea rapido sans board. Swam for the
board, grabbed it and then made for the beach which was only a few metres
away but was still heading out fast than I'd have liked.
Got ashore and then had along walk back - facked if I was launching
again!
Lesson learned: Pack up before the only water left is the fast flowing
dredged channel!
Adequate wind for a 6.5, warm, quite sunny at times and just a nice place
to be, especially after a month off the water.
Only the board & sail size keeping it down to 4 stars.
Also met Harryo & GraemeG for the first time.
