If you turn up & it's sunny, warm, obviously windy & everybody's saying how
good it is then you must be a miserable bastard if you think it's gusty
shite.
That's me, that is - a miserable bastard. It was gusty shite.
Started with a 5.5 and felt overpowered on t'other side so after
persevering a short while came in for a 5.0. That was lovely some of the
time but at others left me wallowing whilst hanging on to a twitchy sail
awaiting the next blow. It was a lot of hard work & the knee complained a
lot from being braced when it was the front one.
Considered using the Syncro as it would deal with the holes better but
really couln't be arsed.
When I packed up I found the 5.5 had been short of downhaul - maybe had I
gave it a bit more, maybe had I tried the Syncro....it would still have
been gusty shite.
I only stopped sailing at Wells a few weeks back in 4.5 weather because I
was shagged, I only stopped sailing there in 6.5 weather last week 'cos the
water ran out. I stopped sailing today because I couldn't raise the
enthusiasm. Gusty shite!
