4th September 2010 Windsurfing: Fraisethorpe Wind Direction: SE Wind Stength: F4 Surf / Sea State: Swell Air Temperature: 17 Sea Temperature: ok Weather: Fair with a bit of sun Max Speed: Distance Covered: Arrived 10 o'clock to wind pretty much as forecast - ie only just F4 and rigged a 5.5 expecting the wind to increase per forecast. It didn't but I doggedly refused to accept reality & stuck with the 5.5. In fairness those on bigger sails - with a couple of exceptions - weren't going any where fast either. So it was wobble out over the on-shore break, do a wobbly turn & wobble back struggling to stay upwind. At least it was different to Rutland! Threw the towel in at 4 o'clock. It's hard to whinge as it's a really nice spot and was a gorgeous day - given a few more knots of wind, ideally with a few more degrees of S, and it really would have been a five star day. Got to meet Matt of Boards forum too - another face to aname! |
