2nd February 2011 Kite surfing: Ynyslas Wind Direction: SW Wind Stength: 18-30 Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: squally overcast Max Speed: Distance Covered: First time out since end Nov ! Went with 12m Xbow but should have gone with the 9m cos it strengthened (and started raining). Just about manageable though. First 15mins was real hard work - arms and legs just wouldn't work. South west wind was a bit gusty and meant going across the breaking swell. Got my sea legs back after a while though and things improved. Went out back past the white water and had some fun. Just about thinking that I'd had a good session (considering the long break - been abroad for 4 of the past 8 weeks - conspiring with the snow and ice...) and the left pair of lines snapped causing a death spiral. Well probably one snapped and the other went in sympathy. Luckily was close to the shore... Oh well those lines had seen a lot of use, and were second hand ! time to invest in a nice shiny new set me thinks ;) |
