Sunday 12th May - walk *** – Around Trimley including a picnic lunch – sunny and hot.

After all the excitement of the last couple of days with late night Northern Light watching and my first windsirf foil for a month I was glad today was still and sunny, in fact it might have been the hottest day of the year here on the coast at Felixstowe! So a nice relaxing morning at home, the usual exercises and pottering inn the garden before I packed a picnic and as we hoped to do a little shopping at Lidl we did not want to go far so I drove the coupe of mile to park up at Cordys Lane to walk a square, down the tree lined lane towards Trimley nature reserve but heading up to the seat that overlooks the back of the docks and back along the railway line. The strip the farmer plants for wildlife down the side of his field looked amazing with red clover and blue phacelia and the usual cow parsley, we had hoped to stop at the seat just down the lane but it was taken as was the seat overlooking the docks so had to do a complete circuit before returning to the first bench which was now empty to enjoy a yummy but late lunch before slowly returning to the van knackered but it has been a top few days, especially the Aurora on Friday which was absolutely amazing:)
