Friday 3rd July – bike ***** Two Rivers, Orwell to the Deben – sunny.

As we hadn’t been out on our bikes for nine days, we were keen to get out on them today before the wind picks up later. So, when we woke at just past six to a sunny morning with light winds, we decided to take a flask down to the old pier at Landguard. Mag and I were down on the prom at 6.30 and were treated to a beautiful sky with a real mix of clouds:) It is defiantly the best time to be out and about with the few people about really friendly as we turned right, cycling to the end of the prom. Then across Landguard Nature Reserve with loads of rabbits nibbling the grass finally reaching the pier for our cuppa. The wind was from the west was picking up so we decided to start back and with the wind from behind it was a pleasant trip back along the prom. So, we decided to continue all the way to Felixstowe Ferry past the open water simmers at both The Fludgers and The Dip! It is always nice at the Ferry with a yacht tied to the three mooring posts so the owner could check her bottom and we watch some fisherman load their catch onto their pick-up. Then out along the Deben path which is bumpy and overgrown in places! Turning off just before Kingsfleet and taking the farm track back to Ferry Lane with Sky Larks everywhere, across the Grove park and home for breakfast. I then had plenty of time to do my exercises in the back garden before lunch. I fitted my foot straps and nose protector to my brand new Exocet Foil board, exciting times, I can’t wait to give it a try! Then down to The Manor for an afternoon windsurf at bumpy old Felixstowe!
