Thursday 30th - bike ***** - Two Rivers Orwell to the Deben including cuppa at Landguard – sunny and hot.

After yesterdays long 5-mile walk which played havoc with my hips we decided to take it a little easier today so when we woke just before 7 Mag and I decided to take our flask to the old wooden jetty at Landguard on our bikes. Leaving home at 7.30 we were soon down on the prom, popular at this time of the morning with joggers and open water swimmers, not to mention the dog walkers! Then onto Landguard, bunny heaven at this time of day and out onto our seat on the jetty just in time to watch yet another large container ship come in. After a nice chat we head back along the prom, Mag heads home up Bent Hill so she can get to Lidl early and beat the rush while I continue on to The Fludgers in wall to wall sunshine. There are several people already setting up their beach huts for the day. Then around to The Dip and onto my favourite Felixstowe Ferry for yet more pics of Gulls and boats. Then out onto the Deben path past the huge eye sore of a house being built in the carpark, however that monstrosity got planning permission is beyond me !!!! At Kings Fleet I turn off onto Marsh Lane leading to Ferry Lane, and through the woods at The Grove and home. It is good to see that most people are now wearing their masks to go shopping and Mag feels much safer wearing hers with this pandemic being far from over:( I have been out for 2 hours 40 minutes covering over 13 miles and still have loads of time to do my exercises in a very hot back garden. Then after lunch we walk around to visit our old friend Mary for a garden get together:) Tomorrow is still looking promising for some long distance windsurf foiling along the coast, 30 degrees too, could be a busy day at the seaside!
