Got to Hell's Mouth at high tide to small waves breaking onto the beach so got out my new inflatable kayak for it's maiden sea voyage. By the time we had it pumped up and ready to go the tide had bugun to drop and the waves began to pick up and break over the sand banks. Anna and I spent a few minutes getting used to paddling in the swell before going for some waves. Caught the wave of the day (about 4') but struggled to stop the back of the boat overtaking the front. Got the basics of steering on waves sorted but not very good at it yet!
Waves got more consistent so Tones and I went out with the surf boards for a great session having a good, consistent break to ourselves. That on top of the kayak paddling early in the day made sure we were both trashed for the BBQ that evening.
