Couldnt beleive it when I arrived to find 4 others already out sailing with a steady 20 knots wind. Jeff got his camper van stuck so had to burn my clutch out a bit and tow him out. There was a burning clutch aroma in the car after that so cant of done it much good. I was debatin whether to go out or not cos of the rain as it didnt look anything special out there. Sat in the car for a while and finally motivated myself to putting the wetsuit on. The wind was dropping all the while so rigged the 6.3 and got out there.
Thought it was gonna be a 4.7 day judging from the amount of wind back home so only brought my short board but how wrong I was. The biggest sail I had used on my 80 litre board was a 5.3 so I didnt know how I would cope with a larger sail in marginal conditions. Was surprised how well powered up I was and got going fine. Nothing special happened during the session apart from the rain stopping so it was just a case of blasting back and forth practising gybes on the sinker, almost completed one. Got everything right apart from the transition flipping the rig round - back to watching the video I think.
