GRRRR such an annoying 2 days. 4 day week 9.5 hours a day now and I have Tuesdays off. Sat around Tuesday 5th praying wind would pick up, it got sooo close, briefly touching 20 mph, but in the end just not quite windy enough. Then two proper windy days Weds and Thurs when I was at work. ARRRRGGGGHHHH.

Just had to get out on Wednesday so skived off work 45 mins early and pegged it to the beach. Was going to Shoreham but traffic was bad and there were lots of kites and a couple of windsurfers out at Hove so turned off at King Alfreds.

Rigged the 5.2 but wind seemed to drop whilst I was rigging (for a change). Tried with the 5.2 but got nowhere. Came back thought about giving up but there was still some wind so had to give it another go, so rigged the 5.9. Another bloke had arrived parked next to me and he rigged a 5.8 having watched me blob out and back on my 5.2.

Wind was v onshore which combined with very closely spaced waves made getting going difficult. Blobbed out a long way again, eventually got planing, gybed (reasonably well considering it had been 3 months, but still), fell in, blasted back having lost mucho ground downwind cos I was underpowered. Came in cos my port harness lines had slipped. Now the shorebreak was really jacking up, but somehow managed to get out through it OK. Same again, blasted out, gybed, fell in, blasted back, having lost even more ground downwind. Got munched in the shorebreak when coming in. 5 minute very tiring walk of shame back to car.

Crap session but much better than not going out at all.

WHEN AM I GOING TO GET A DECENT SESSION THIS FRICKIN S**T WEATHER IS DRIVING ME MAD.
