26th April 2009
Windsurfing: The Dip-Felixstowe
Wind Direction: ssw
Wind Stength: 8 to 15 +
Surf / Sea State: choppy
Air Temperature: 14
Sea Temperature: 9
Weather: sunny periods
Max Speed: 23.92 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 24 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Mag and I were down at The Dip by 10.30 for breakfast in the van hoping the forecast wind would show unlike yesterday when the 15mph winds never made it to Felixstowe.Things were not looking good to start with as the wind hovered around 6 mph and even the first kiters giving up.Then as a few of my mates turned up the wind picked up a little and the sun started to break through. So I rigged the raceboard with 9.4 and in the end there was four longboards rigged to go giving the day a real retro feel.My first venture to the Fludgers ended in defeat as the wind dropped light so I returned to try again a little later. This time it was alot better and the farther I sailed to the R.Orwell the stronger the wind became.I turned in the river mouth as the sail was becoming abit of a hand full and had great fun broadreaching back !!! I am getting okay with the adjustable outhaul and soon landed for a snack (I carried a racksack with drink, food, gps etc) on kite beach at the Ferry where 14 were out !!! So after helping a kiter launch and downhauling the sail as by now my mates were out on short boards with sails ranging from 6 to 8.5,I then had several runs sailing upwind then really broadreaching fast for the big board in the chop!!!
So after 24 nm came ashore knackered with arms twice their normal length only for Neil to break a mast while racing with Mark S,so I helped him with his broken gear changed where I learnt Ipswich had won 3-0 away,it's the Roy Keane effect !!! Then Mag came down worried as it was 7 and she thought I'd drown, then home for a chinese - a top top day !!!
