A bit of a Good Friday lay-in reading the excellent 'Long Standing Ambition' by Jono Dunnett where I get a mention towards the end:) It was cloudy but then some blue sky appeared so we heated our Danish pasties, made a flask and headed out on our bikes at 9.45. The prom was fairly quiet for a Bank Holiday so we made it all the way to The Fludgers and on to the coast path at The Dip. We sat at our favourite spot by the River Deben in warm sunshine at low water with several shingle bars out but the tide had just turned and was whizzing in!
It was then onto the Ferry to show Mag a huge house being built in the Ferry Cafe car park, must be pushing the Planning regulations to the very limit! Mag was fit enough this week to carry on along the Deben path to Kings Fleet with fields of beautiful bright yellow rape all around:)
Back inland past Falkenham where we spotted a hare and a couple of buzzards. Then across the fields to The Grove where we spotted at the Fairy tree, now a bit out of control getting more decorations every day!
Stopping to chat with friends Mandy, Georgia and Matthew before returning home for egg sandwiches. The wind was filling in but it was westerly, offshore so pasted on the windsurfing perhaps tomorrow.
