They have been forecasting a easterly 15mph+ but woke this morning and as usual the latest forecast was lighter and dropping during the day but nice and sunny. After breakfast went down The Dip as it was approaching high water and the wind wasn’t enough even for the long board:( I had a walk along the beach looking for coal and seeing a nice old sailing boat leaving the Deben and the sun had disappeared!
Nathan turned up with his kit, then Chris Phillips checking the conditions which looked far from inspiring so he went home while Nathan rigged 8.2 and went out on a 310. Being a lightweight he did get going so checked the wind and it had picked up a little. I didn’t fancy a longboard sail so took a chance with 8.5 and my 310. You could plan in bursts by running down a wave but it was crap and it dropped so you couldn’t get going on the race board:( Wobbled up to kite beach sat ashore for a while as the wind went even lighter so had to struggle back down wind to pack up.
Sun came out so read some of my book, perhaps some wind forecast over the next few days but not holding my breath!
