Thursday 1st February - ski **** Morzine in the Alps - cloudy and snow.

Mag woke up feeling rough and was off colour all day but it had snowed overnight and looked beautiful but the conditions were not her favourite so she didn’t miss too much. I went up the mountain with Pauline’s lift pass with Hannah, Elaine and Emma and the visibility was OK and the rain we had in the night on the apartment had fallen as snow higher up and there was a foot plus! We were soon all falling over as we tried to make it down in the deep snow, we tried the childs animal run first just to get our legs put the slope not steep enough and was slow going on the legs so we decided to go to the top of Pleney 1505m and try the very steep red to the left of the cable car where I wiped out spectacularly the other day! I actually made down this time but Hannah and Elaine were not so lucky and I could hear their laughing from miles away! We met up with Emma and continued down the red to the bottom and I tried to find some powder at the side of the piste which was great fun even though I am crap at skiing it! At the bottom Hannah and Elaine joined their mum for a warming drink while Emma and I went down her favourite Grizzi blue. I was now wet through so decided to ski right back to the apartment.
I tried to dry my ski clothes on the super-hot bathroom rad, have some lunch before I went out on the hill at the back of the apartment for Arlo’s first sledging adventure, I don’t think he was over impressed but Rob, Hannah,Emma,Dan,Jay and I loved it with Mag still not well watching from the stair well with Maz. We took it in turns with Arlo on the sledge but it is tiring so we soon called it a day and walked up to the cable car as we wanted to take Arlo on the free tourist road train that links Morzines two cable cars! While waiting for it to arrive we saw a push along snow buggy/sledge ideal for Arlo and Rob decided to hire one for tomorrow to save his back from carrying Arlo in a front sling! The train soon arrived and we all got on the back quickly arriving at the far cable car, we loved it so much that we did it again but this time getting off to walk out on the very high suspension bridge, well not Dan as he hates it! Then I take Arlo home in the sling, he is a heavy boy while the others stay in town and crepes are involved I believe:) Rob and Hannah did fish fingers chips and peas for tea. MagI went to bed at 8.30 and we had a quiz night – Martin brought all the stuff from home which is a good fun :)
