Sunday 4th February – walk ***** Annecy to Sevier – cloudy and cold.

The night was too bad for noise as we are near the busy Albertville/Annecy road but the worst thing was the load keep fitters arriving in this free carpark to set off either up the hill or along the lac! We were only going to have a look at the lake when we had had our breakfast but started to walk to the right instead of the left as yesterday and ended up doing a very nice 6 mile walk along the banks of Lac Annecy. We walked on lots of the jetties and enjoyed the clear water and the birds. We have never seen so many keep fit fanatics. Our car park was full of them from very early – joggers, runners, roller bladers, cyclists, rowers, canoers and general walkers. The most hilarious of the activities being a man and his wife setting out in their canoe and him falling in! Just as I took a photo too! There was also an old boy of about 80 swimming out in just swimming trunks. It was only around freezing point and the water must have been like ice!!! When we returned to the van we drove off to the other end of the lake to have our lunch at a lakeside grassy area we had been to before and stayed there for the rest of the afternoon. When we left – after dark – we turned away from the lake hoping to find a good parking place and sadly scraped the wheel arch on a crazy narrow, bendy, walled road! Still can’t be helped. We eventually found a good place at the plage in St. Jorioz. We had a crazy tea of eggy bread and left over raclette cheese which is incredibly smelly!!!
