Friday 2nd August – Bike ***** Two Rivers – sunny and hot:)

Woke to another blue, hot sunny day in Felixstowe and with our Grandson Arlo coming today for the weekend we decided to get up early and head out on the bikes to miss the crowds. So, we left our house at 7.15 and headed down the hill to the prom turning right and going to the lovely Landguard, then around to the viewpoint. Back along the whole length of the prom now busy with dog walkers. Back on the road to The Dip and onto the Ferry which really was peaceful. Took five minutes rest on the seat looking up the Deben before setting back along the road across the golf course turning up Ferry Road and back through The Grove for breakfast. So, a nice start to the day, out 1 hour 40 minutes covering 12 miles. Then out in the garden to do my exercises while being dive bombed by Gulls as the baby gull is still in the back garden and seems to be taking forever to learn to fly! Rob, Hannah and Arlo arrive safely and we have a great time playing with the little fella with toys Mag got out of the loft. Then we drive to Ipswich to visit Kimmy’s Mobile Zoo where our other son’s partner Jay volunteers, to meet the animals. Despite being very hot we get close up to Meercats. Skunks, Racoons, snakes, lizzards, spiders, white hedgehogs but the best bit was sitting in with the Meercats tickling their tummy and making them giggle:) It was then home for a cuppa and cake while Arlo has a dose (in fact there were only two awake in the whole house and I wasn’t one of them!!!). Then when it cooled off we visited the beach where Hannah swims in the sea for ages while we play with Arlo who loves the beach. Mag makes the most delicious toad in the hole to end the perfect day:)
