Monday 3rd February - bike **** - Two Rivers – Orwell to Deben – Mainly cloudy.

After three windsurfing sessions in a row I was thinking of having a rest but with temperatures dropping with the wind turning north tomorrow I decided to head to Levington yet again with lovely sunshine and a westerly gusting to over 20 knots. When I arrived at the marina a couple of workmen were moving the big pile of heavy chains thus blocking my access to my parking spot. So, after a quick chat with Jamie I headed for home to see if Mag was up to a bike ride? Mag was busy in the garden but was up for a bike ride, so I made a sandwich while she completed her work. We decided to have our picnic at Landguard so headed there via Langer Park, with first stop the viewing point where we watched a dredger working close to the container ship berths. It was a little breezy and crowded there so we continued to the beach and sat in the shelter of the old pier as a huge container ship came in. With the sun disappearing it was chilly to stop too long so we carried on through the reserve, sadly no Snow Buntings were spotted:( Back on Felixstowe prom Mag turns off up Bent Hill and home while I continue onto to my favourite Felixstowe Ferry where I get some nice pics with a lovely moody dark sky! Then it was a head wind across the golf course turning into Ferry Road and through a very muddy Grove wood and home. Tomorrow is looking too chilly and the wind in the wrong direction for the tide so might have to wait until the weekend for another windsurf!
