Woohooo, as good as it gets. I went to work in the morning and waited for the sun to come out around midday and got on the water at about 2pm. Glad I waited as the wind picked up around now too.

The wind was a solid 30 knots with a few bigger gusts and looking at the trace from the weather station it was at its strongest from around 2pm until 5pm when it dropped off quite a bit. Perfect as that was the exact time I was on the water which makes a change!

Gorgeous sunshine too and some big waves, especially out the back. I was well powered with my little wave board and 4.5m sail and able to sail right out through the waves jumping like mad on the way out. I sailed across to the buoy a few times and then tried to make it across to Graveyards, but on all three attempts each time I got past the buoy the wind dropped off and I struggled to keep going. On the third attempt I got hit by a big set whilst wallowing and had a bit of a swim so that was my final attempt too! I don't understan how there can be such a difference in windspeed so it must have been something to do with the currents.

Simon was out too and although struggling to start with one the wind filled in a little more he was having a good time too. Dunk joined us with his 6m kite towards the end too.

I did try one forward loop but the rest of the time was spent simply sailing in amongst the wave with some nice big jumps for good measure.

Perfect.
