Estaury in a strong E'ly

Have to say that the estaury is quite peculiar in an easterly..after the nuking winds 2 weeks ago, it was a tad scary with little water...and have to say that I prefer clean wind from off the Ocean

THURSDAY IS THE DAY!

Yeah - Ive found that.
Its the funneling effect from the valley winds in the nearby mountains.
Can be pretty hectic on a sunny day with the thermals causing it to be really gusty.

It tends to be really gusty when the true wind direction is SE, but the wind somehow swings around to Easterly in the estuary... if the true wind direction is NE then you get a ridiculous increase in wind strength and it can be a fairly steady wind.

This happened a couple fo weekends ago. First thing in the morning (Leonardo was still in his tent!) there was a steady 30-35 knots NE wind, by about 8.00am this had swung SE but was still cheannleing into the esuary but it had become a gusty 10-25 knots.
