Hi all!

I'm new here so I thought I'd introduce myself. I've been sponging for about a year now and have a few questions if anyone can answer them?

Living in manchester I make the weekly trek to the coast most weekends with Hells Mouth (when its going off)being the most frequent. I also do the long blast down to Devon frequently.
Does anyone know of any other beachs in North Wales that would be sheltered when Hells is blown out? I've tried Porth Ceiriad and Porth Oer, but i'd be interested if there are any others.
Also has anyone been in Llangennith
lately? The last time I was there (about 8 months ago) the sewage was terrible with human "left-overs" left on the beach as the tide went out! Is it any better?

Have you taken a look at the beachguide on this site?? It has descriptions of almost all the beaches in North Wales, so may suggest a few you have missed.

have you ever looked at Nefyn when theres a big SW and Hells Mouth is blown out. It needs a big swell for it to work, but it can be good.

I haven't been to Llangennith for a while either, but didn't notice anything too unsavoury last time I was there.

...and thanks for the idea about Nefyn. Now the winter months are well and truly on us, it could well be worth a visit when those monster swells start hitting!

I also have another request if anyone out there can help me!
Does anyone know of a nice cheap and cheerful B&B in the abersoch area? Or a little cottage that you can hire for weekends would be even better! I know there are loads of them, I was just wondering if anyone can recomend any?
I'm getting a bit wimpish now the weathers getting cold, and I don't relish the idea of a frozen wetsuit after i've woken up in a tent!

The only problem i have with Nefyn,the town folk are very anti English.

Since that last post of mine i've started surfing at Porth 'oer just up the road from Nefyn. The waves are consistantly of a better quality compared to hells mouth. I've not had any problem from unfriendly Nefynians(?), thats probably because normal everyday folk don't go in the sea when its close to freezing!

It might all change when summer arrives.... i'll keep you posted!
