Things look pretty mental glad I wimped out and sailed in sunny Bedfordshire with nice hot showers!
Looks like rabbit may of lost his driving school crown with that parking The question is how far does the tide come in

Spencer - 31-1-2004 at 20:51

Hi Befs, the tide would have made it to the car but a low loader type thingy with a crane got it back up,yeap that parking is right up there with Rabbit...

LOL... As soon as I saw the photo of that car I thought of Rabbit too.

Looks like you had a good day Spencer, you look pretty commited in that photo. Just bend those knees, hang on and hope for the best!!!

Those are the conditions Portland Harbour was made for... Mad winds and flat water and you can't help but go stupidly fast. Shame Bjorn wasn't there yesterday!

I've sailed days like that there and know what its like... You come blasting down from the Isle of Portland at warp speed, inches from the beach, and then just where the guy behind you is, the shoreline bays in a bit and away from you and there some smal, short, sharp chop that you hit at full speed and it feels as though your teeth are going to get rattled out!!!... Great fun.

Al.

yeap ur right was good fun, those knees do look very bent but the gust were so strong i couldnt sheet right in when one hit! did try to keep the power full on though.
unbeliveably that car was rescued with no damage-dont leave the handbrake off with a 50knt wind blowing...

Hey, I'll gladly relinquish the honner for best driving award for that, There's even photo proof of the event. Unlucky Son.

Feck!! Now that's windy!! I've never ventured out in anything quite like that.
What size sail were u on? Looks like if you were to stand up you'd be nearly as tall as the mast!

and that parking - a stroke of genius - imagine how much easier it'd be loading up the car after hard days ripping. Just drop it all straight in the boot.

Spencer - 17-2-2004 at 06:47

Yeah was abit windy, f8 - f10. was on a very loose 4.2 but should ave stuck up the 3.8 not that it would ave made a great deal of difference. mmm was a nice bit of parking-bet he wont leave the hand brake off again?
