Hi Al,

No, I'm back in the UK now and this photo of Kahutara was sent to me by a Kiwi friend (Rob Gray) who introduced me to the spot near Kaikoura on South Island. I surfed it half this height and it's still a heavy fast wave that took me two days to figure out. A guy broke both his legs when a closeout shoved him through his board while we were there.The surfer is a chap called Dave and the photo was taken by Rob after he'd finished his session. When he first pulled onto the parking spot there was no-one in and he had the place to himself for half an hour. Needless to say Rob has big cojones! I've sent some shots I took of it on an average day. The bottom left and middle are Rob on his longboard The bottom right is a kneelo. Don't see too many, eh, but he ripped. It was good to see, having grown up with a deep admiration for George Greenough and his film making.
