leaking kite.... help
shawn - 13-4-2004 at 09:13

I've got a 16m North Rhino that appears to have developed a very small leak. As far as I can see, the only way to find it is to take out the whole bladder (it's the BIG one), inflate it, and run it through a bucket of water (which I don't think it will fit in anyway) until I see bubbles - patch it up and stuff it back in the kite again.....

Anyone got any handy suggestions or other alternatives on how best to tackle this problem?

How about takeing the bladder to local lake or canal will will be easier than useing a bucket to find the lead then mark the hole with a marker pen.

shawn,

I've had the same problem with my 13m, but as I work at a big lake I look for the hole in the water ( on a calm day). You can try a bucket of water with loads of washing up liquid in it, and use a sponge to rub over the bladder , it'll blow bubbles where the hole is.

I also find its best to put it back bone dry, this helps it not to twist, I know some people use some talc powder too.

Hope this is some help
