Anybody around kitesurfing this weekend - on the Ynyslas or Aberdyfi side ?

Will be driving over from Wolverhampton early on Sat or Sunday morning.

I might be making an appearance Saturday or Sunday, all being well.

Bought Jules a power kite to try out (fancy a trip to Borth Jules?)

Might head over to the estuary for some windsurfing if it looks any good.

May see you on the M54 macdonaldal.

What kite did you get for Jules??? I'll let her borrow my mountain-board with it if you like!!!

Hopefully see you at the weekend. Its looking as though there will be some wind about, and some surf if you're into that. Tides are springs, but not huge (4.8m) and High tide is at:

Sat: 9.35am
Sun: 10.15am

Its a trainer 1.8m power kite with handles from Decathalon. It looks quite good though. She'll be wanting to learn how to fly it before moving to anything bigger.

Thanks for the offer with the board, I'll let here know!

Sunday might be best for us with the high tide being a bit later. Maybe I could beat my last personal best walk of shame?

Just a thought and you can ignore me if you want but here goes.

Instead of going all the way down to Newquay try Croyde. Theres a Tiki outlet shop in Barnstaple that boasts the largest selection of second hand surf boards in England (don't know how true that is!!!) but it has loads. And if that fails you've got hundreds of shops everywhere.

Just a thought to shave about 4 hours off your journey!

Good to have you back Zelwaters... I'll check out that site and your photos in mo.

I think going to Croyde would only save you an hour or so really...not quite 4 hours, but Croyde is a pretty cool place. I lived there for a while many years ago and workd everyday on the beach as a lifeguard!!!

As far as shops around here that sell second hand boards, Your best bet will be Stormriders in Abersytwyth.. http://www.storm-riders.co.uk. (Hope you like their website as I bulit it!!)

Tell Mike that Al from Forces-of-Nature sent you and he'll do you a deal if he can.

Al.

Just been checking out the wind - and it looks pretty hardcore on Sunday 30+ knots - so I'll be trying to get out on Sat.
If I went out kiting on Sunday I'd probably end up miles inland in a tree - ouch

Al... Back to the original topic, I've just been looking at the weather charts and it looks as though it could be perfect for kiting tomorrow morning. Which side are you planning on launching from???

Cool.... You won't see this, but I'll see you there. Neil and Col are already over there and Mike (The Flying Scotsman) will be there later too.

The wind is pickung up and I'm waiting until the tide drops a bit before launching my kite.
