surfboards rule

Was amazed today at how little wind you need to get going on a surfboard. Loads of fun, just need to get some footstraps on mine now as I only had wax. I was zipping along and even managed to ride toeside at one point!
Chris was also out flying on his surfboard.
This could be the start of things to come!

Looks as though kite-surf boards have come full circle in Borth! I saw you both out there today.... Although it looked as though I saw you before you'd put any wax on your board Tim. I did think about joining you with my directional, but didn't bother in the end as the wind looks better during the week.

Fingers crossed, there might even be enough to windsurf on Tuesday. if not there should be enough for kiting.

Al.

They sure are a great light wind alternative, Ive used my custom 5'5", strapped fish a few times now and love it. Had one session at dyfi side on it really powerd up on it, and still goes great. I wouldnt want to ride one all the time, but theres certanly a place for them. Cant wait for a 10 knot southerly day with a 3-4 foot ground swell!!

yeah, it was pretty tricky to get going, every time a wave came the board was pushed away from your feet, made me feel like Idid when I started kitesurfing, but when I was up and away it was unreal, different kind of feel to a kiteboard, more riding on the tail, loads of fun.

Know what you mean Shem, I can't wait to try mine when theres some swell.
