Round the world trip?

Hi,

I am planning a round the world trip later this year. I also want to learn to kite surf. Any ideas about great places to learn that I can take in on my trip?

Thanks,

Tom

Virtually anywhere with a coast! Egypt would be good, but hardly worth stopping at on a round the world trip. Western Oz would be great, but winter could be to windy at times.

I hadn't thought of Egypt, is it around Sharm-el-Sheikh? Can you recommend any schools? Western Aus is somewhere I would definitely fancy visiting! Again, do you know of any good schools there? Is it the whole coastline or are certain places better for kite surfing (and have more of a kite surfing community)?

You could learn at Margaret River, nice mellow spot to start at, just watch out for the 30ft sets, rocks and sharks

Although I can recommend Egypt ( El Gouna ) I have not been to Oz myself but have been told New Zealand has some awesome spots and should be on anyone's world tour schedule. Will hope to get there myself in the next 5 years before the big 50 !

round the world kiting trip

Hi Tom
if you're after great conditions (reliable wind, warm water and good waves), the Caribbean should be on your list.
SXM (sint marteen/saint martin) has a ten months long windy season (yes!), with the peak from December to February (we're talking 3m swell and 20 knots + every day...). Great island, cheap living, spots not packed, gorgeous riding sites, and the benefit of finding cheap flights to the US and south america as well.
Drop me a line if you ever head this way, will happily help you out.
Windy regards
Em

Hello Friends..

I will suggest you guys to start learning kite surfing from Asia and the location is "Thailand - Hua Hin"....The best time for this is from November-April....
