Camped up in Borth at present. Dovey was looking promising for the weekend a day or so ago, but latest forcast showing W on Sat, and SSW - SW on Sun. More importantly - showing staying that way for Mon and Tue - so think I'll stay put for the mo

Yep, wind looks OK for Saturday now.... Although the forecas keeps changing.

Fingers crossed it stays as it is showing now which is 30-40 knots SW.

Did anyone catch the forecast on the BBC last night? They said something along the lines of it being 'a day to avoid being on the sea'... Are they mad, this is what we wait for!

Expectations are high, lets hope it delivers.

Actually, just checked it out and their exact words were:

"don't even think about going out on the sea tomorrow".

Nice!!!

Turned out pretty good and not that windy after all. About 30 knots all afternoon and pretty flukey in the morning. I was out on my bigger kit, although slightly smaller may have been better.

Waves were pretty big though.

Not quite as good as the hype, especially the BBC hype!

Who's around today? (Monday 16th).

It's looking good. 25-30 knots SW all day.

I'm hoping to get out for a bit early this afternoon.

Thinking of a session offa Dovey on Wednesday morning (18th).

Looks like it could be pretty mad 30-40 knots SW at the moment, so going for the relative shelter of the estuary.

Hi Andy,
I won't be able to get around to Aberdovey on Wednesday morning, but I might go for a session off the seafront, or maybe drive to the estuary and sail across from there I guess, but high tide is pretty early (8.30ish) and its quite a big tide so that might be a little difficult.

Hi Al,

I didn't expect you to cross the estuary but I think the Borth waves will be a bit too mad for me at the moment.

Looking at the heavy rain first thing I might be sailing late morning and thru the middle of the day but will have to see.

Andy

OK, if you find yourself on this side of the Dyfi then feel free to pop in for a cuppa!

It's pretty windy out there!

Andy did find himself on this side of the estuary as the Dyfi Bridge was closed.... So we had quite an adventure in the Dyfi Estuary.

Good fun.

Yeah, turned out to be a good one. The effort was well worth it after all.
