Look Out

Hi everyone, some of you may know me from A1 or SSB. I am now living local to Mundaka, originally from Cornwall, moved to Bournemouth and stayed until 2000. Ride a mini mal, been surfing 10 years this July, surfed Europe and Morocco only.

Hi French Cruiser.

I think I am being thick, but where is Mundaka? You seem to suggest you are based round Bournemouth, but I am in the the area and have never heard of it!?!?!?!?

SeanBo..... Mundaka is a VERY famous place in Northern Spain known mainly for its lefthand rivermouth wave. Probably one of the most famous waves in the world, after Pipeline and J-Bay.

Unfortunately it isn't anywhere near Bournemouth, and I don't think there a ferry from Bournmouth to N. Spain either!!!

Ah!

But there is a ferry. It goes from Poole to Santander and takes nearly two days. If you go one one of thier mini cruises you get nearly 3.5 hours on dry land and then rejoin the ferry for the 'cruise' home.

Nor sure how close Santander is to the wave though...anyone fancy a four day cruise for about 3 hours surfing???????

You can fly Newquay to Stansted and from there to Bilbao (Ryanair and Easyjet). The airport at Bilbao is about 15 miles from Mundaka, hire a car and camp, a dirt cheap trip especially in the winter. Watch out for the locals/rich pretty boys that want to say they have 'been there' after they have surfed it.
