Where do you keep your belongings?

I know this is a really lame question but where do you keep your belongings when
your in the surf and there's no one on the beach to keep an eye on your stuff? Ok if you've got a car nearby no problem but
what if you have'nt lets say you got a lift
cycled etc. What do most of you do in this
situation. If you do have a car nearby can
anyone advise me of the best and safest way of storing my car keys.
I know this a really boring thread but any
good advice would be appreciated.

J

Personally I just leave it either:

1. In a heap on the beach and hope for the best.
2. In my van with the keys hidden somewhere.
3. At home... which is the most common.

You can get waterproof keyholders that go around your neck and tuck inside your wetsuit if you can leave your stuff in a car and want to take the keys with you. No doubt Aquapac do something along those lines.

Yes I sometimes use an aquapac for my electronic car key. It's pretty handy really.

If I don't have a car to put my stuff in or the car is unsafe I usually put all in the highest spot I can see from the break. A place that takes a while to get to so that if someone does try to knick it it will take him some time and I can usually spot him from a distance.
The top of a rock or hanging from some pole, tied to a flag post - this anoys lifeguards-, etc.

Has it always worked, I've only had my stuff stolen once in 8 or so years.

The best thing is to take as little as possible with you.

LOL! In some wetsuits now you can get pockets...my wetsuit is supposed to have a pocket but i can't seem to find it.
It says that its waterproof and it zips up, plus its always near you. It might be a bit uncomfortable when your lyeing on your board and its on the front...but i think that it is possitioned at the rear near your back.

i don't know, but it definately says there is a pocket on my wetsuite....weird! You'd think that the people who designed it would make it discreet, but not so much that you can't find it yourself!

It doesn't even tell you where the pocket is on the tag that comes with it.

Oh well. Maybe its on the leg?
