Bodyboard Hydrofoil

Billabong Odyssey touched on this for surf boards but there is also a bodyboard version invented by a salty old sea dog.

Yup i saw that in Billabong Odysee...very cool!

But doing it with a bodyboard would be weird lol, your legs would hang off the board and drag along unless you keep them up for a long time.

I wonder how stable that guy is on it?

talking about billabong oddesy did any of you guys see the best barrell award, such a good wave down at shipsterns in tassie, there is like 5 barrells all just warping crazily with the surfer in the main one, so crazy, i could watch that wave over and over that kind of surfing is awsome to watch, sorta the same as watching footage of boogers at cyclops (i dunno if many of you would have seen that footage)

Yup those barrels are sweet, i wouldnt survive out there with that many rolling lol.

I personally have not seen the cyclops footage, but i have seen many pictures and stories of it in the Threesixty Mag articles...that is one hefty, thick wave!
Its almost like someone is gauging a huge creater of ice cream out of the ocean and then put a thick mass of lip over it, so its one big ball of water each wave/barrel. Hehe

Oh my goodness, yup thats the one. That guy must be well good because thats the messiest cyclops wave ive seen so far. So heavy.

Heres some pictures i found, a little less messier, but you can see the power and thickness in it. The sea level actually dips like a bowl before it even gets to the face of the wave, is that because its so sucky?

I know i wouldnt like to be under that lip.

also the pictures here:

http://www.wannasurf.com/spot/Australia_Pac ific/Australia_WA/Fitzgerald_River/cyclops/

That review of the wave also says:
"It is pretty much only a bodyboarding wave, although surfers can tow in, but it is risky, but has been done before in billabong odyssey."

I've heard its a good bodyboarding wave, but has the guy in your picture been towed in booger? Surely some stand up surfers ride it to...not sure on that one.
