Out all afternoon in the estuary - neap tide meant enough water from 1pm-5pm. 7m was definitely the right choice for the first hour, after that I wondered a few times about changing to a 9m, but was glad I didn't because it kept coming back. Last half hour was a total blast on the butter smooth water just in front of the sandbank. 7m fully powered up and the gusts seemed to ease off. Wish I'd taken my GPS because pretty sure some of the runs were faster than I have ever been on a kiteboard. -had to be careful to slow down before hitting the slightly choppy water, didn't manage it once leading to a spectacular crash -but kite stayed in the air:) Seemed to be as fast at the one and only jet ski - but no idea if he was only playing! I still have trouble timing jumps off flat water, but tried quite a lot. Too used to playing in the waves I guess. Saw 4 other kites out at one point, so plenty of room even with the low hight tide. Exhaust broke on the van on the way home, so a spot of welding to be done before any kiting tomorrow(: Completely separated behind the header downpipe. Sounds quite impressive really... Looks like a fairly simple case of welding a sleeve onto the flange.
EDIT: just dug out the MIG and the roll of welding wire is rusty... Grrrrr
