28th January 2016
Windsurfing: El Medano
Wind Direction: NNE to NE
Wind Stength: F4 - F5 gust F6
Surf / Sea State: chop and rollers
Air Temperature: 21.5
Sea Temperature: 20
Weather: cloudy sun
Max Speed:
Distance Covered:

Looked a bit off and gusty and told it would even out later but rigged 96l/6m to ensure that I got out. Well powered up and wind much more even that it looked. Nice gybing off rollers and a few in smooth water close to shore. Got over powered so rigged 76l/5.3m which was perfect when changed fin from 21.5 to 25cm and moved mast forward an inch as better balanced. Sea got choppier as neared high and rollers got higher, nice turning on rollers. Packed up as tired
Saw a large green object moving in the water which I guess was a huge turtle.
Cabezo was reading 23 to 26 knots and gusting 30-33knots. Learning weather station reads a bit high for South Bay, and when it says 18-22knots good for 6m and 23+ good for 5.3m. Reckon station reads ~10% more than it is in South Bay. Forecast looks accurate strength.
