Windsurfing: Levington Wind Direction: w Wind Stength: 10/42 Surf / Sea State: river chop Air Temperature: 7 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunshine and showers – cold :( Max Speed: 28.35 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 10.79 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Although working all week, we finished early today :) so I was home at
12:30 but sadly there were few options available as the wind was wsw and
turning even more west which left The Fludgers at Felixstowe or Levington.
With no sailors on the seafront, there is a shortage of windsurfers here in
Felixstowe – come back Steven Carter, we miss you!! So I headed over to
Levington Marina and with winds gusting to 35 mph I rigged the 5.8 on the
133lt. but again by the time I was ready the wind had dropped :( I went out
anyway and to be fair whatever sail I rigged would have been wrong in winds
ranging from 10 to 45 mph with some huge squalls coming through making for
some very dramatic skies :) but also making it chilly with the temperature
dropping below 7 degrees in the sleety rain!!! Then as the tide came in the
River chopped up really bad making it no fun, I had a few ok runs peaking
at 28 kts but not one of my better sessions. I had to wait for a big squall
to pass before packing up and getting some nice pics of the dangerous skies
!!! Then when I got home one of my trailer tyres was flat and damaged so
that’s more expense :( but I did stop on the way home and order a new
Gill buoyancy aid :) That’s hope the wind steadies and we get some warm
weather soon !
