Sunday 18th April - bike **** - Around Felixstowe including lunch with ‘Emily’ – sunny periods but still chilly.

After two pretty full on windsurf foiling sessions on the lovely River Stour sailing over 75 miles, I was pleased that the breeze has eased today so could take it a little easier. Another nice day here on the coast with sunny periods but still a chilly breeze but I still managed my exercises in the back garden while Mag did some gardening and repairing my 8m sail I put a hole in yesterday. Then we made yummy egg sandwiches and headed out around 1 o clock on our bikes, the first time for 13 days! Avoiding the seafront, we headed inland past the Grove Park and down Marsh Lane to Kings Fleet with fields of vibrant yellow rape now coming into bloom:) Along the River Deben path taking the second turning to Falkenham Church where our favourite bench was free. Lunch with a view while being entertained by loads of little birds flitting about, the stars being a couple of Robins. It was too chilly to sit too long so we took the footpaths and bridle ways to Kirton. Over the A 14 to Trimley up Grimston Lane to the tree lined track back to Felixstowe where again we spotted two herds of deer including the white one and a stag:) So nice quiet bike ride being out for nearly 3 hours covering nearly 15 miles just could have been a tad warmer!
