The wind just keeps blowing with this being my 4th session this week and
with the wind mainly from the south it meant loads of short runs and have
never gybed so much, getting on for 400 so am now officially knackered but
it has improved my turning skills, well most of the time:) With low water
at 1.12 I arranged to meet fellow foiler Robert who has been away for the
week canal walking at 9.30 having found the glove I lost yesterday on the
way home! There was loads of water with even some glimpse of sunshine with
the forecast rain not arriving until I got home at 1.30! With a couple of
fingers playing up in my right hand I did not want to rig big and there
looked enough breeze to go for my 6.5 again with lighter Robert rigging his
6m. It proved OK until the end of the session when the wind went a little
patchy but I had been out over two hours by then so it was time to call it
a day! After a dodgy start dropping in quickly I sorted it out as I beat
down river towards the docks which was slow going upwind as the runs were
fairly short and as I was gybing both ends I was not making much ground but
it does not matter as getting the gybes sorted is the main aim! Nothing
over fast today again as southerly seems to be a slow direction as a good
swell was running as wind against tide, I tried pushing it a few times and
eventually broke 18 knots but went in a couple of times when I breached!
Hopefully a few days off before a run of easterlies later in the week when
both Levington and Bradfield are sailable! Packed up, shower and home for
lunch with Mag who had been busy in the garden:)
