Friday 22nd September – walk ***** – Hemley Church to Waldringfield – Sunny periods with some amazing clouds:)

With no wind until Sunday it left us free to do something else, we decided to drive to Hemley Church and walk to the Maybush Pub at Waldringfield to spend a voucher Mag got from our son Robert for her Birthday:) It was a little gloomy while I did my exercises but things improved as we drove over to Hemley and we had some most amazing fluffy white clouds rolling over in the light winds:) We arrived at Hemley at 12.10 and set off along the lane and soon came across a couple of large potato harvesters but the workers were having a break. We reach the footpath which crosses farmland with lovely views down to the River Deben, so peaceful too! Around by the big house with its no cycling signs which is quite sad, past the small farm resevior coming out at Waldringfield Sailing club. The tide was faily low on the River Deben and coming in and looked lovely as usual, we ambled along the beach with its many tenders and up into the pub gardens, I got a great table with super views while Mag ordered the food, we soon realalised why we don,t eat out much as the prices are so high these days but we do prefer to take our flask and pack a picnic but it is nice to have a treat now and again! The yummy fish and chips for me and pulled pork burger for Mag soon arrived which we really enjoyed:) After the meal we walked past the board yard and a little way along the river path where a huge new house is being built! Then it was back the way we came and this time we got to see the potatoes being lifted, the gulls were loving it too! Back at the van tired after walking nearly 4 miles then to make Mags day we picked up two bags of horse manure on the way home! What a top day:)
