Thursday 28th December - walks **** – Felixstowe sunrise and The Dip to the Ferry for lunch - mainly cloudy.

Even though the strong winds continue I decide to give windsurfing a miss today especially as I have been two days in a row, so with a clear morning with a full moon out of the bedroom window I decide to head down to Felixstowe seafront to catch the sunrise at 7.30. Despite the strong breeze of late the sea was disappointingly flat but I got a few OK pics including a couple of happy dippers, then home, exercises. As we had to get a few things from Lidl I decided to pack a picnic and drive to The Dip and walk to Felixstowe Ferry. We set off just after one and with the wind slightly off it was quite pleasant despite the the cloud with some brief glimpse of sun but with some menacing dark clouds approaching! We were heading for the seat by the jetty but it was fairly busy so decided to stop at our usual spot by the River Deben for our yummy pork sandwiches with some huge waves breaking over by Bawdsey Manor! We even had a few spots of rain during lunch before moving onto the boatyard and back the way we came. I managed to get one of this afternoons pics chosen as a BBC Editers pick but it sadly did not make it on the TV!
