Sunday 13th October - walk **** – Circuit of Rushmere Common near Ipswich – Some sunny periods.

Thought we would visit my Dad at Ipswich in the afternoon which left me free to do my exercises, not much sunshine, a tad chilly so the door was shut, the heater on and T. Rex playing on the record player:) Mag suggested we park away from the hospital and walk through Rushmere Common so I found a good spot to park off Penzance Road in Rushmere so after a quick bite to eat at home we set off, finding the ideal parking place at two a short distance from the start of the path. It was a lovely tree lines path leading to the common which was very pleasant, nice and quiet too, just us a few dog walkers and several golfers as the common has an 18 hole golf course! We get a phone call from my sister who has just visited Dad with an Aunt and asks if we can get a paper. Iy was about a mile to the hospital, my Dad has been moved and is now 6 floors up in the air. He did not seem too bad, has been eating and drinking a little more but sleeping is hard at night with noisy other patients and the lights on, hospitals are not the best places and need to be avoided if possible! We had an hour with him before returning to the common heading the other way back, in fact we did a complete circuit of it! We come home along lots of narrow county lanes and were lucky enough to spot a hare:)
