Thursday 28th November - walk **** – Levington Curcuit – sunny
and still.
We had arranged to meet our friends the Hurrells at my dads bungalow in
Ipswich as they are helping with his vehicles which left us free in the
morning, I did my exercises while Mag did a 100 things including making a
yummy shepards pie. Todays weather was amazing, wall to wall sunshine with
very light winds, a touch chilly. With things sorted with Neil and Linda a
picnic packed we drove over to Levington church to have a late lunch
arriving at 2. We sat on our bench with lovely views down to the River
Orwell which was like a mill pool with a buzzard circling and long tailed
tits in the tree beside us, just so peaceful:) We then walked down the hill
to the wooden walkway, the water level in the reed beds was high and part
of the path was under water but not deep enough to stop us. We spotted a
couple of deer doing a runner, then back along the river path with loads of
waders both feeding in the mud as the tide was very low and several big
flocks of dunlins whizzing past. Back up the hill to the van and with
sunset approaching I turned into Levington Marina stopping by the slipway
to take some pics and was lucky enough to get one on tonights BBC Look
East, my 70 TV pick this year:) Then home for a well deserved cuppa and
homemade butterfly bun, top day. Might go windsurf foiling tomorrow at
Levington if not too cold and then again on Sunday as it gets mild
again!
