Saturday 25th January - walk ***** – Around Levington – sunny
with light winds:).
Storm Eowyn moved away here in Felixstowe and we were left with a perfect
winters day with light winds with wall to wall sunshine:) After yesterdays
hectic windsurf we had no plans for the day so spent a nice morning at home
but I had left one of my windsurfing neoprene socks at Levington so we
decided to make the most of the lovely weather by packing picnic and
driving over to the marina :) We parked at the windsurfing launch spot by
the marina entrance at 1.30 and it was just stunning with the Orwell
looking lovely in the light winds, it was nice to see a few boats out on
the water, we enjoyed a good egg sandwich watching a couple of Little
Grebes diving. We then parked up by the café for a walk through the trees
to Loompit Lake with loads of small birds in the tall trees. There was
loads of geese and swans on the lake plus ducks and cormorants with a Great
Egret in the distance! Then down onto the beach to the end where Mag found
a tree swing and had a great time reverting to her childhood:) We then
walked up the path from the beach back to the lake as the sun was dropping.
It was too long to wait for sunset here so we drove to Felixstowe Ferry but
sunset was a little disappointing so home for a cuppa!
