Monday 7th April - walk **** – Around Trimley including a picnic – sunny.

As the good weather continues, we have had 40% of Aprils sunshine already with no rain coming for days! After two days of top windsurf foiling it was nice to have a relaxing day, I drove over to Walton Church to take some weather pics of one of the best blossom trees in Suffolk, an absolute stunner! Then exercises in the back garden while Mag sorted out her young plants with the cats having fun chasing the pigeons off! I then packed a picnic, yummy chicken sandwiches, we wanted to get away from the coast where the NE breeze knocks the temperature. We were no sure where to go, being a little late and with traffic lights everywhere making it difficult getting anywhere and we ended up parking at Cordy’s Lane in Trimley St. Mary. We walked down the lane towards Trimley Marshes to a bench overlooking farmland, Felixstowe docks with the Orwell in the distance. Being half term it was fairly busy with people out enjoying the good weather, we had some nice chats with a dog walk and a family out on their bikes! The blossom looks amazing and we soon spotted a buzzard circling, after lunch we carried on this time past the dock view point, down to the level crossing and back along the path by the railway line, a little noisy with the spell of diesel but that’s the docks for you! We then drive back via Gulpher Road so we could see the sea to home where I quickly washed my bike as its going to the repair shop tomorrow as my brakes are not working, my poor old bike is getting on, perhaps its time for an upgrade!
